To uphold an active North Carolina real estate broker license, brokers must complete 8 CE hours by June 10th every year. For brokers, the 4 hour General Update Course and a 4 hour Elective are required. For Brokers-in-Charge, the 4 hour BIC Update and a 4 hour Elective are required. Read through the course descriptions below to learn more about what KBRES offers.

Preregistration is requested to ensure a spot. Seating may be limited. Students arriving late can not be admitted.

Be sure to download/print your current pocket card from NCREC.gov. You need to bring it to class. In most cases, refunds will not be awarded; however, students will be credited towards another class. Some exceptions apply. In the rare event Classes may be cancelled or rescheduled registered students will be notified ASAP. Classroom temps may vary during class. You may want to bring a jacket. Please arrive 15 minutes before class begins for check-in.

UPDATE COURSES

General Update #9919

Course for NON-BIC and/or Provisional Broker Status

Class Description

The General Update Course is a 4 hour course that must be completed by all provisional brokers and non-BIC brokers annually in order to maintain their license on an active status. This course must be completed by June 10th of each running year. The topic each year will vary. Course topics cover are decided by the NCREC.  Feel free to contact Karen for this year’s specific topics.

BIC Update #8819

Course for BIC and/or BIC Eligible Status

Class Description

The BICUP course is 4 hours and must be completed by all BIC and BIC eligible brokers annually in order to maintain their BIC status and keep their license on an active status. This course must be completed by June 10th of each running year. The topic each year will vary. Course topics cover are decided by the NCREC. Feel free to contact Karen for this year’s specific topics.

ELECTIVE COURSES

Every day ethics in real estate

Course #3340

Class Description

Class #3340. NAR requires an Ethics class every two years. The deadline is every even calendar year.  Dec. 31, 2018 is the current deadline.  Students review case studies as the “judge” and discuss cases studies based on actual situation of alleged unethical content.  We review the Code and discuss varies way we as agents can be proactive to ethical situations.  The class is interactive and involves class participation and discussion, even sometimes debates.

Course # 2430

Class Description

Class #2430. This course is designed for students to navigate through the legalities of a contract.  The course covers basic legal concepts, electronic documents & signatures and the various stages of contracts in real estate.

Class Description

Class #2270. This course is always interesting! Either a rookie or a veteran, there is always surprise answers. This course is designed to address some of the most common topics/issues asked of by agents to the Real Estate Commission and their responses.

Class Description

Class #3217. This course reviews actual North Carolina cases that have been appealed to the NC Court of Appeals.  Learn the do’s and don’ts by reviewing what the agents in the cases presented have done.

Class Description

Class #2447. This is a very interactive course where the participants act as the judge in these cases.  The course will use case studies to help gain a better understanding of real property contract law.

Class Description

Class #3461. An elective course designed to cause broker to “stop….and…think” about his or her actions or inaction when working with buyers and sellers or landlords and tenants, especially when acting as a dual agent.
